Think Green, Act Green

Hello everyone!! I Hope all of you are doing great…
My name is Kireina from Indonesia and I was EIC 2010`s Camp Leader.

EIC has become a place for me to learn and got a lot of experiences.
I am happy that I could finally find where my passion is.

In Indonesia billboard vinyl advertisement are very popular, and we (my family and me) notice for the last few years these billboard visual changes frequently, new ones put up and old ones become waste.
Based on this fact, in 2008 we decided to turn these waste billboard vinyl material into bags, furniture items, school/office supplies like notebook cover, storage folders and many more.

Besides the billboard vinyl, we also try to develop products from other waste materials like toothpaste tubes, paper and candy wrappers.

The entire products are handmade locally by small home industries, and we are happy to be able to help unfortunate people to have work and turning trash into cash for themselves and their families.

In the past 2 years we are able to reused 15 tons of waste and contribute to our local social and economical sustainability as well as spreading environmental awareness.

Our products logo is DYRT (Do You Recycle To), like it is said, I do hope that more Indonesian will be more aware of the environment and start thinking what to do to save the planet.

So let’s stay healthy, act healthy, save our earth and I believe you can do more than me…
I really hope to meet you all on the 10th anniversary and can’t wait to hear your stories and dreams...

LOVE and HUGS,
Kireina
